I loved the play of light and shadow on the wooly coats of the sheep in my neighbor's pasture last fall. I tried to capture the individual stances of each sheep, as well as the distinctive shapes of the various tree species blazing with color in the background. I wanted to make the viewer feel the warm autumn sun on the animal's bodies.
